It looks like we are nearing $20,000 - almost all of it from TSL community.

Here's the background of our current Ten for the Win drive:

About a month ago, TWHokie reached out to me with a challenge for Hokie softball fans. Like many of us, TW is a fan of this team and asked me if I would spearhead something fun to start a new season.

TW is going to pledge $10 for each regular season win, $20 for each ACC Tournament win, and $30 for each NCAA tournament win. Gelded Turkey, who generously contributed to the cause last year, agreed to double the money raised, IF we hit at least $7,500 in pledges/contributions. Consequently, the $7,500 magically becomes $15,000. That means each dollar pledged essentially becomes two dollars.

We are calling this challenge “Ten For The Win,” although ANY amount will make a difference, whether it’s $5, $2, or even $1 per win. Remember, if we hit our goal, every dollar will be doubled thanks to gelded turkey’s generosity.

We already have pledges amount that total over $280 per win which means if we win 40 games, that $11,200, Gelded Turkey has already sent in his $7,500 so I have taken over $10,000 to Coach D'Amour already!

It's a fun way to support the ladies and I sincerely appreciate TW and gelded turkey for the idea.
TW sent me a text last night that he's up his pledge to include $50 for a series sweep, and extra $5 for wins over a ranked team, and $10 per home run.

I then gather all the checks together, create an easy spreadsheet for the Hokie Club to follow and then Coach Pete hand delivers them to ensure that the softball program get credit for the dollars.

It's a bit clunky and requires some extra work, but that way we KNOW it gets to the right place.
